I think i've already explained myself why i'm making this car
The pyros's car isn't bad but for my taste it lacks details. It would be easier to modify existing ford focuses but i can't import them and than there is a question of author's permission to modify his creation but since i'm so far with this project i see no point in modifying.

I didn have much time to work on this project lately so progres is rather slow
but i'm not giving up yet:))

Dont stop your project its always nice to see a new ford project cause its a nice car. For the mapping it would be better if you can used the old mapping with the old texture!! Good work!!

Can anyone tell me how to make windscreen reflection effect on light glass as you can see on picture (fiesta wrc by Garyson love that car:))



I think it has something to do with materials editor but i don't know what to change.
I'd also like to make reflective lights (same effect that body has) I'm experimenting with shaders and textures to make chrome effect so...

In the main ini file, try to use CarPaint as FaceBlockShader on the parts you're interested into.

The other solution is to note which shader is used on those parts, then go in the CAR_shader_settings_clear.ini (and overcast.ini) then find the shader parameters and use the values from Garyon's car (probably a higher Kf). I'm not sure you'll be able to do anything about this directly in zmodeler (or 3DS max).

I used carglass instead carpaint as FaceBlockShader and the thing works:)



I've also changed faceblockshader settings for lights and now i have reflection on them as well. Now all i need to do is lower the reflection with alpha channels in photoshop:)

Glad to hear that

If you don't use too much the light shader (or the others), you can still lower the kf value to lower the reflections because on transparent parts, the alpha channel will only change the opacity.

Atm i'm working on two cars (conversion from official WRC game for personal use) Stell some work to be done. Wheels and dashboard for both and i'm playing a bit with shaders and reflections so...

Hello! In precios page was link on Garyson turtorial about car export to RBR,but now it"s dont work    maybee somebody can share some knowledge
about car exporting,tips and tricks,some turtorial.
I have a model,and would like to export this car in the game

I have saved the screens from that link cus description of exporting is in russian language but i mange to export my focus using only screens. If you can PM me your mail i can send them to you but you need 3dsmax 5 and exporter for exporting the cars. If you don't have 3dsmax 5 the exporter wont work so... or you can try PM garyson

Need help  i'm stuck:(

I'd like to attach carplastic materila to the external bumper wire for the car so the wire isn't shiny cus that not really realistic. The wire is attached to a front light glass and in ini. file i have used carglass that why bumper wire is all shiny. I have detach it and changed it's name to e_wire than i exported the car run the game but the wire on front bumper isn't where it should be. I also tweaked ini file but there is no diffrence in game the wire still isn't there.

Here are some screens perhaps someone can tell me what i'm doing wrong or what i should do to get the wire that isnt' shiny and works properly.

Btw how do you insert new parts into game for example middle brake light etc.?

For the front wire, make sure is it related to the front bumper (like the shadow part) and then it's position should be OK and you should be able to use another shader that car_light (maybe car_plastic). It's the material that will "say" if the part has to be transparent (using the opacity bitmap) and the shader that will say how to react with lights and reflections.
The middle rear brake light can be another object (most likely children from the back door) and you will have to manually change the ini file to change the switchbox in order to use brake_lb or brake_rb). That should work. I'm not sure you can use a specific switchbox (like brake_mb for middle back) because the game was not designed for cars with the 3rd brake light. It's the same for extralights. Look the ini files on recent cars which have extralights and a third brake light, it should inspire you (I think at the DS3 WRC for example).

I detached the wire from lightglass and make it children to the front bumper same i did for the bonnet wire. (children to the bonnet)
Than i tweaked ini file, changed face block shader to carplastic and material to external transparent and the stuff works so...

Now i'll do the same with focus wrc 2010 and 2005.

Btw do you have any tips for solving the problem with flickering brake lights. When i hit the brakes under certain angle the light starts to flicker revealing what's it's under it.
Quite annoying i say.

What i did is that i made a copy from back light than i've deleted the faces that i don't need, changed uvw mapping and make sure that the brake light_lit covers the rear light but for some reason brakes still flicker:(

That's the only problem that i still have with converted cars anything else works fine:) I can send you the cars if you want so you can see what i mean:)
