Avec FireFox 3.6.x (et 5.0 -> 8.0 sous Windows XP) :

Avec Chrome 15.0 -> x :

Sujet du message:  Re: The internet cache dump major browsers

In downloads, it is sometimes necessary to empty the internet cache of the browser to obtain the correct version of the file to download.

That is the cache internet : It is a folder on your computer in which are temporarily stored files from web pages (and downloaded files) that you visit.

What it is: If you re - download the same thing, your browser looks in the internet cache if this image or this part of the site has not already been downloaded. If this is the case, your browser will use the file on your hard drive rather than on the remote site that will accelerate your navigation.
Why to empty the internet cache :Sometimes that on some computers the browser does re - not systematically download an already downloaded file and returns the cached file. Example: you download an RSRBR car pack, this file is cached by the browser. Some time later, the pack file of car has been modified (new car) decide to re - download you. The browser takes the file in the cache... and you find yourself with your old file and not the new:)

Here are the actions to be taken to empty the internet cache :

With FireFox 3.6.x (et 5.0 -> 8.0 and Windows XP) :

"Tools" menu -> "Options" ->Select "Advanced" and then go to the "Network" tab then click on the button "Empty cache now"

With FireFox 5.0 -> Firefox 8.0 (under Windows vista / 7 with aero theme) :

Menu "Firefox" -> "Tools" -> "Options" -> Select "option" and then in the window that opens select "Advanced" and then go to the "Network" tab then click on the button "Empty cache now"

With Internet Explorer 8 or 9 :
"Tools" menu-> "Options Internet" -> "General" tab -> Click on the button "Delete.".." -> Only check "Temporary internet files"-> click on the button "Delete".

With Chrome 15.0 -> x :
Click on the icon key to wheel at the top right of the browser

Select "Options" then "advanced options" then "Clear navigation data"

Let check that box on the cache and validate by clicking "Clear data navigation".
