La transmissission de la RS200 bénéficiait de deux particularités :
- elle est composée de 3 différentiels à glissement limité par un visco-coupleur de principe Ferguson,
- le pilote à le choix, par un petit levier placé à côté du levier de vitesse, entre 3 répartitions :

train arrière uniquement (propulsion)
2 -
4 roues avec répartition AV/AR : 37% / 63%
3 -
4 roues avec répartition AV/AR : 50% / 50%
Ceci est pour la version origine, en ce qui concerne la Groupe B c'était une 4WD
En version groupe B y a eu 200 exemplaires clients, (avec cette spécificité de déverrouillage des différentiels), nécessaires pour l'homologation et 20 exemplaires version course. Dans ces dernière aussi il avait la possibilité de changer la répartition des différents différentiels. Si j'ai bonne mémoire Stig Blomqvist et Kalle Grundel roulaient en 60 / 40 et que Santos et Droogmans privilégiaient la combinaison inverse.
