Re: Pacenote Plug-in de WorkerBee
Dernier message de la page précédente : Jim is aware of that. Now let's hope it will be OK for next update, but it can be more difficult that it looks (I really don't know how is RSRBR coded).

Re: Pacenote Plug-in de WorkerBee
+ 1 ...... Surely Guys personal pacenotes are the way forward. As always in Rallying an Evolution of anything only makes it better... . Does'nt it !! .............. and all the poor soles like myself who have numerous stages ( rally finland ) with-out pacenotes would be able to add there own notes and enjoy the stage fully. .

Re: Pacenote Plug-in de WorkerBee
If the technical guys are able to allow this plugin can I ask that one other issue be looked at as well. The plugin allows pacenotes in BTB stages to be edited and saved in the pacenote.ini file in the RX_CONTENT/TRACKS folders but the pacenote.ini file isn't saved back to the 7z password protected folder where the BTB stages are loaded from.
Would it be possible for changes to the pacenote.ini file to be saved back to the protected folder for future use. Obviously BTB stages would benefit most from custom/edited pacenotes and this aspect would really enhance the BTB stages and make them more usable in online events.

Re: Pacenote Plug-in de WorkerBee
For the moment the other administrators are quite busy in their personnal life so I'm not sure it will be possible soon. I think that the basic integration of the plugin can be possible for the next update (but i'm not even sure of that) but I don't believe that the modified ini file can be taken for the moment because it will probably need more work on the source code of RScenter.

Don't bother and don't waste your developers' time with that. No need to incorporate that kind of function into rsrbr. Version 1.1 of the Pacenote plugin will take care of that itself. Users will be able to load the pacenotes from an arbitrary BTB ini file.

Re: Pacenote Plug-in de WorkerBee
Well, it wasn't supposed to make it into rsrbr.
The point is whether one could install the plugin and work with it without rsrbr interfering or renaming the DLL.
Could someone confirm what the new update does with the plugin if present ?

Maybe we should sign another petition.
I suppose our last one has not been recognized appropriately.
Still about 40 days to go ...

Re: Pacenote Plug-in de WorkerBee
The plugin should not be integrated this year because it allows to add notes to stages where we removed them (hillclimbs) so it would be considered as cheating. There will be work to do in order to have dls files overwriten by ours for hillclimbs. Maybe next season, but i'm not sure because Jim and Beu-C have a lot to do (and great ideas) for the next RScenter version.

Let's hope they will find time to do this, because it is very important to have your own rally notes! Every real rally driver does that!

+1 One could say that the hillclimbing as a concept in RBR have lost all of its semi-appeal years ago and to cling on to it and prioritising it in such a manner - at the expense of something fresh and exciting - is just mind-boggling. But then again, Rallyesim can do whatever they wish.

There will be work to do in order to have dls files overwriten by ours for hillclimbs. I don't understand this reason. The current Pacenote Editor included in RBR.DLL, which RSRBR includes, allows anyone to add Pacenotes to the Hillclimb Stages if they wanted to cheat. I just tested it to prove it, Off-line and On-Line. Workerbee's Pacenote Editor is just a much more flexible way of editing Pacenotes, it is much more user-friendly, allows much better personalisation of pacenotes to suit the driver, allows drivers to use custom sounds to suit their language, and allows editing of BTB Stages (many of these need improvement). In summary, it won't allow any additional cheating (than RBR.DLL Pacenote Editor does), but is a huge improvement to RBR. Surely, it is the aim of the RSRBR addon to keep improving this great Rally Sim for our users, so it seems disappointing to exclude such a useful tool from RSRBR users. RSRBR already includes some great improvements from WorkerBee (eg. FixUp.DLL which provides much needed improvements such as expanded Replay and Setup file numbers, etc) which are invaluable to Users, why would we not support his Pacenote Editor? Please reconsider allowing it's use in the next Update. The RSRBR Community would be very pleased.

Re: Pacenote Plug-in de WorkerBee
Well said WAD53 - Having countered Rallyesim's reasons for not permitting this plugin there would seem to be no unearthly reason why this plugin cannot be allowed to run in next release of RSRBR.
